Budded Mattah Urban Agriculture
Seed Starter Program
It all starts with a seed
Through the seed starter program residents, non-profits, and church groups will have the opportunity to break ground on a path to eliminate the food desert and speak God's Shalom over the area. It all starts with a seed and a vision. Participants will receive plants of thier choice, guidance, and help starting their own gardens and community gardens. To encourage individual growers, we will offer to buy back the produce through a newly developed community supported agriculture (CSA) program. There will be opportunity to be in community with the growers, to encourage each other, generate extra income, help one another, and share knowledge about the produce they are growing. Participants will be invited to join cooking demonstrations and nutrition classes provided by community partners and community meals. This program is open to everyone within the food desert and we are accepting volunteers to help.
